About Me
As a film enthusiast and aspiring filmmaker, I am thrilled to be a senior studying Media Arts and Design and Marketing at James Madison University. My dual degree program has allowed me to delve into the technical and creative aspects of film, with concentrations in Digital Video and Cinema as well as Digital Media. I am originally from a small town called Mexico, New York but I currently live in Spotsylvania, VA when I am not at college. I am passionate about using the power of film to tell meaningful stories that engage and inspire audiences. With my dedication to learning and honing my craft, I am eager to embark on a career in the media and entertainment industry. I am dedicated to creating authentic and non-stereotyped representation of the LGBTQ+ community in film. Growing up, I struggled to express my identity due to a lack of representation and the microaggressions I faced. I want to help others find their voice and feel seen and valued. I believe that media has the power to shape societal attitudes and that by showcasing LGBTQ+ individuals in powerful and nuanced roles, we can destigmatize and celebrate the diversity of our community. By listening, forming empathy, and appealing to our common humanity, we can work towards decreasing harm and fostering understanding. It is time for queer voices to be heard and for cinema to bring people together and recognize our shared human experience.
